To strengthen bilateral ties and tap into the growing market of Bangladeshi travelers, the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) is set to host its inaugural media networking session and B2B roadshow in Dhaka on April 5–6.
The two-day event aims to enhance destination awareness and foster long-term partnerships between the tourism sectors of both nations.
The initiative kicks off on April 5 with a Media Networking Session designed to showcase Sri Lanka’s diverse travel offerings, ranging from cultural heritage and wellness retreats to adventure and leisure tourism.
This session seeks to engage leading media representatives to generate wider publicity for Sri Lanka as a premier destination for Bangladeshi tourists.
The following day, April 6, the focus shifts to professional networking at Le Méridien Dhaka.
A comprehensive B2B Roadshow and Networking Evening will bring together approximately 150 Bangladeshi travel agents and tour operators.
This platform will facilitate direct interaction with 19 prominent Sri Lankan tourism companies. The visiting delegation is being led by SLTPB Chairman Buddhika Hewawasam and Assistant Director (South Asia) Shirani Herath.
Recent data highlights a steady upward trend in travel between the two South Asian neighbors. Sri Lanka recorded 59,563 arrivals from Bangladesh in 2025, while 11,079 visitors have already been documented in the first quarter of 2026.
Officials believe this roadshow will further accelerate this growth by establishing robust connections across the travel and media industries.
