Government Pledges Lower Hajj Package Costs for 2027

Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Houssain Kaikobad on Tuesday announced that the government is committed to reducing the cost of Hajj packages for the year 2027.

The Minister shared this update in Parliament while responding to a starred tabled question from treasury bench member Lutfur Rahman (Cox’s Bazar-3). Highlighting the government's future intent, the Minister stated: "Initiatives will be taken to reduce the cost of the Hajj package for 2027 considering the overall situation and the needs and facilities of the pilgrims."

Status of Hajj 2026

Regarding the current year's arrangements, Minister Kaikobad confirmed that Hajj operations for 2026 have reached their final stage. Key updates include:

  • Financials: All necessary expenses for both the Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia phases of the journey have been settled according to the current package.
  • Documentation: Visa processing and all administrative activities have been successfully completed in strict adherence to the Saudi government's timeline.
  • Flight Schedule: Hajj flights for 2026 are officially scheduled to commence on April 18.
