Benedicte Schilbred Fasmer, the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Norwegian telecom giant Telenor Group, called on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Monday morning.

The high-level meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s Cabinet Division office within the Bangladesh Secretariat.

According to the Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary, Atikur Rahman Ruman, the discussions centered on Telenor’s strategic interests in expanding Bangladesh’s telecommunications sector and strengthening its digital infrastructure.

Fasmer provided an overview of the company’s current operations in the country and outlined future investment plans aimed at supporting national digital goals.

The meeting was attended by a Telenor delegation and senior officials from relevant government ministries.

As a major investor in the Bangladesh market, Telenor reaffirmed its commitment to contributing to the country’s technological landscape through continued partnership and infrastructure development.
