Bangladesh has reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to multilateralism, UN peacekeeping, and international cooperation during a high-level visit by a delegation from the United States Army War College to the Permanent Mission of Bangladesh to the United Nations.

Welcoming the delegation on Monday, Ambassador Salahuddin Noman Chowdhury, Bangladesh’s Permanent Representative to the UN, underscored the nation’s deep-rooted engagement with the global body.

He emphasized that this dedication is firmly anchored in Bangladesh’s constitutional commitment to international peace and security.

Highlighting the country’s significant role on the global stage, the Ambassador noted that Bangladesh remains one of the largest contributors to UN Peacekeeping Operations, with its personnel serving with distinction in many of the world’s most challenging and volatile conflict zones.

During the visit, Ambassador Chowdhury briefed the American delegation on the diverse activities of the Permanent Mission.

He specifically highlighted efforts to build upon Bangladesh’s established legacies in key areas, including peacekeeping, sustainable development, women’s empowerment, and climate justice.

Reaffirming the nation’s robust support for the United Nations, the Ambassador stressed that dialogue, compromise and consensus-building remain the essential tools required to address contemporary global challenges and to further strengthen international cooperation.
