The government of Bangladesh has issued a forceful condemnation of an Israeli military strike in southern Lebanon that claimed the lives of two Bangladeshi nationals.

In a press release issued on Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed profound grief over the incident and demanded an end to the escalating violence in the region.

The deceased have been identified as Shafiqul Islam, a resident of Satkhira Sadar, and Md. Nahidul Islam Nahid, from Ashashuni in Satkhira.

"Bangladesh condemned in the strongest possible terms the attack by Israeli forces that claimed the lives of two Bangladeshi nationals in southern Lebanon yesterday," the ministry stated.

The government extended its deepest condolences to the families of the victims and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting them during this tragedy.

The Embassy of Bangladesh in Lebanon is currently coordinating with local authorities to complete the necessary legal formalities for the early repatriation of the mortal remains.

Embassy officials are also maintaining constant communication with the grieving family members in Satkhira to provide updates on the process.

In light of the incident, Bangladesh reiterated its deep concern over the ongoing hostilities and the rising toll on civilian lives.

The government called for maximum restraint from all parties involved and urged strict adherence to international humanitarian law to prevent further loss of innocent lives.
