Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to visit Chandpur this Saturday to lead several high-profile initiatives, including the inauguration of canal re-excavation projects and participation in various party events.

This marks his first official visit to the district since assuming the office of Prime Minister.

According to the itinerary released by the Prime Minister’s Press Wing, the Premier will depart his Dhaka residence by road at 8:30 am.

His first stop is expected to be at Lakshmipur Bazar in the Barura upazila of Cumilla around 11:30 am, where he will address a roadside rally.

The Prime Minister’s activities in Chandpur will center heavily on water management and social support.

At 12:30 pm, he will inaugurate the re-excavation of the Khordda Canal at Waruk Bazar in Shahrashti upazila.

This will be followed at 1:45 pm by the inauguration of another major project—the re-excavation of the "Bishwo Canal"—located near Ghosher Haat in Chandpur Sadar upazila.

Following a brief rest at the Chandpur Circuit House at 2:30 pm, the Prime Minister will head to the Chandpur Government College ground at 3:30 pm to attend a "Family Card" distribution ceremony.

In the evening, at approximately 5 pm, the Prime Minister will transition to political duties by attending an organizational meeting of the district BNP at the Chandpur Club.

He is expected to conclude his day-long visit and begin his return journey to Dhaka by road at 6:30 pm.
