PM Heads to Mymensingh for National Poet's Birth Anniversary Celebrations

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman left the capital by road for Mymensingh’s Trishal on Saturday morning to inaugurate the national-level celebrations marking the 127th birth anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.

The Prime Minister’s motorcade departed from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in Tejgaon at approximately 11:06 am, according to PM’s Deputy Press Secretary Hasan Shiplu.

Prior to his departure, the Prime Minister arrived at the PMO around 10:05 am to tour a sports car and electric vehicle (EV) exhibition hosted on the premises.

During the walkthrough, he inspected various modern, technology-driven vehicles and exchanged views with the industry representatives present.

He also attended another brief scheduled event before officially beginning his journey to Trishal, Shiplu added.

According to the official tour schedule, the Prime Minister's first order of business in Trishal will be to inaugurate the re-excavation project of the Dharar Khal (canal) in the Bailor Union of Trishal upazila.

Following this, he will proceed to the Nazrul Mancha in Trishal to formally inaugurate the central national programme honoring the 127th birth anniversary of the Rebel Poet at 3 pm.

Concluding his regional visit, the Prime Minister is slated to chair an organizational meeting of the Mymensingh North, South, and City BNP units at the Trishal Nazrul Auditorium.

He is scheduled to depart Mymensingh for his return journey to Dhaka at around 6:30 pm.
