A Bangladeshi expatriate worker has passed away from severe injuries sustained in a tragic road accident in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The victim has been identified as 32-year-old Md Nur-e-Alam, son of Ayet Ali, hailing from Gobindapur village in the Burichang upazila of Cumilla.

According to family sources, the fatal incident occurred on May 18 when a company microbus carrying Nur-e-Alam and 11 other laborers was returning from a work site.

A fuel-laden vehicle reportedly rammed into the microbus from behind, leaving several of the workers inside critically injured.

The victims were rushed to a local hospital in Dubai, where Nur-e-Alam ultimately lost his battle for life on Monday morning while undergoing treatment.

His passing raises the official death toll from the crash to three.

Family members shared that Nur-e-Alam had been working hard in Dubai for about six years to financially support his family back home. He had briefly returned to Bangladesh on leave just six months ago before heading back to his workplace.

He leaves behind his grieving wife and a 17-month-old son.

The devastated family has made an urgent appeal to the concerned government authorities to facilitate the repatriation of his body back to Bangladesh at the earliest possible time.
