Kuala Lumpur is set to initiate the onboarding procedure for two hundred thousand Bangladeshi laborers by the conclusion of September, with the entire undertaking anticipated to wrap up in half a year, according to State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Mir Shahe Alam on Sunday.

He shared these observations while addressing journalists following a discussion held at the Secretariat between the Malaysian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Mohd Shuhada Othman and the Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives, Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan.

“The manpower export from Bangladesh will begin in by the end of September and will be completed within the next six months,” he stated, referencing the high commissioner.

When questioned regarding the volume of employees to be hired, Shahe Alam remarked, “A total of 200,000 will go through their listed companies.”

He mentioned that Malaysia will additionally absorb another 10,000 Bangladeshi workers under a zero-cost arrangement, signifying that the laborers will not incur any hiring-related financial burdens.

“That will also begin in phases towards the end of September,” he added.

Answering an inquiry concerning whether the conference touched upon a correspondence dispatched by the Bangladeshi administration to Malaysia pertaining to liquefied natural gas imports, the state minister clarified that the topic was not raised for deliberation.
