The viral albino buffalo named "Donald Trump," which had been sold for slaughter in the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha, has escaped the sacrificial blade following the direct intervention of Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed.

The celebrated animal is now being returned to its original breeding facility in Narayanganj.

Officially disclosing the decision to the media on Wednesday, the Home Minister explained that the government stepped in due to growing concerns over potential public chaos and severe overcrowding caused by the animal's massive popularity.

To facilitate the rescue, the buyer from Keraniganj was fully refunded, and the buffalo was escorted back to its home farm, where it will remain for the time being to be properly raised, preserved, and cared for.

The unique 700 kg albino buffalo initially shot to fame at the 'Rabeya Agro Farm' located in the Paikpara area of Narayanganj city.

It was affectionately dubbed "Trump" by the younger brother of the farm's owner, Ziauddin Mridha, who noticed that the animal's distinctive wavy golden hair and striking eyes bore an uncanny resemblance to US President Donald Trump.

While the unusual name quickly transformed the rare breed into an overnight internet sensation, a buyer named Samir from the capital's Jinjira area had already purchased the massive creature at a rate of 550 BDT per kilogram before the online frenzy truly took off.

Once word of the "Trump buffalo" spread across the country, massive crowds—including children, teenagers, young adults, and women—flocked to the area just to catch a glimpse of the celebrity animal.

Some curious onlookers even traveled from distant districts like Barisal and Comilla, with many animal enthusiasts expressing deep disappointment that they could not buy the unique buffalo themselves.

The fame of "Donald Trump" the buffalo has extended far beyond local crowds, rapidly turning the animal into an international center of attraction.
