President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman stood side by side with hundreds of devotees from all walks of life to offer their Eid-ul-Azha prayers at the National Eidgah in the capital on Thursday morning.

The state leaders took part in the day’s very first Eid congregation, which commenced precisely at 7:30 am at the National Eidgah ground, according to the President’s Press Wing.

Following the conclusion of the prayers (namaz), both the President and the Prime Minister joined the mass of devotees in a solemn, emotional munajat (supplication), seeking the infinite blessings of Almighty Allah for the entire Muslim Ummah as well as the progress of the Bangladeshi nation.

The high-profile Eid jamaat saw the participation of the Chief Justice, cabinet members, the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Administrator, judges of the Supreme Court and the High Court Division, members of parliament, senior political leaders, foreign diplomats, and high-ranking civil and military officials.

The morning Eid prayers were formally conducted by Mufti Muhammad Abdul Malek, the esteemed Khatib of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.

During the special munajat raised after the prayers, divine blessings were sought specifically for the lasting peace, steady progress, and overall prosperity of Bangladesh, alongside the welfare of its citizens and the global Muslim community.

Immediately after the congregation, President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman warmly exchanged Eid greetings with each other.

The President then extended his Eid wishes to the Prime Minister’s cabinet colleagues, dignitaries, and a wide cross-section of ordinary citizens present at the venue.

In line with the traditions of previous years, the grand Eid assembly at the National Eidgah ground was executed under the close management and supervision of the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

The organizers ensured that a dedicated, special arrangement was made at the venue to allow women devotees to offer their prayers comfortably.

To ensure an entirely peaceful atmosphere for the high-profile assembly, law enforcement agencies implemented an intensified, ironclad security protocol in and around the entire Eidgah premises throughout the morning.
