Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman visited the gravesites of his parents and younger brother to offer munajat (supplicatory prayers) on the auspicious occasion of holy Eid-ul-Azha on Thursday .

After attending the country's primary morning Eid congregation at the National Eidgah, the Prime Minister, accompanied by his wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman, arrived at Zia Uddyan in the city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.

There, they visited the graves of his father, the late Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, and his mother, former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

Upon their arrival, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and his wife recited the Surah Al-Fatiha and offered deep emotional prayers at the final resting places of the state leaders.

Following this initial family prayer, the Prime Minister joined senior leaders of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) to collectively recite the Fatiha, participate in a special mass munajat, and place floral wreaths at the graves as a mark of profound respect.

A distinguished contingent of ministers and advisers accompanied the Premier during the visit, including Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, Social Welfare Minister AZM Zahid Hossain, Prime Minister’s Political Adviser Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, and Prime Minister’s Defence Adviser Brigadier General (Retd) Dr. AKM Shamsul Islam.

State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam, Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Md. Safiqul Islam Khan, and SM Jahangir, MP, were also present among other high-ranking leaders.

Following the protocols at Zia Uddyan, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman traveled to the Banani Graveyard in the capital.

At the site, he paid his respects at the grave of his younger brother, Arafat Rahman Koko, where he offered special prayers and sought eternal peace for his departed soul.
