Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Saturday chaired a high-level meeting at his office to finalize preparations for a massive, nationwide tree plantation campaign targeting the planting of 25 crore trees, alongside various events commemorating World Environment Day.

The strategic meeting was held in the morning at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in Tejgaon, according to a press release issued by the Prime Minister’s press wing.

Top government officials concerned with environmental management and policy attended the session.

The discussions centered on refining climate-centric messaging tailored for the different implementation stages of the massive tree plantation drive, as well as coordinating widespread environmental awareness activities to mark World Environment Day across the country.
