Amid the nationwide soccer fever of the ongoing FIFA World Cup, a video of Barrister Zaima Rahman, daughter of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, showcasing her football skills during a visit to the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) has gone viral on social media, drawing widespread praise for her enthusiasm for the sport.

Zaima Rahman arrived at the premier sports institute in Shimulia, Savar around 10 am on Monday to gain firsthand knowledge of the institute’s sports infrastructure and training activities. She stayed at the facility until the afternoon.

During her extensive tour, she inspected the BKSP’s indoor cricket facilities, cricket ground, artificial turf football venue, Bailman Hangar and the shooting venue.

She also visited the student dormitories to interact directly with the residential students and enjoyed a specialized sports demonstration at the gymnasium.

The highlight of the visit, which quickly captured the internet's attention, occurred when she joined the women footballers on the pitch.

In the widely shared footage, Zaima Rahman is seen passing the ball to a female footballer near the edge of the penalty area.

After skillfully controlling the ball, the players exchanged quick passes to advance toward the goal.

Capturing the moment, Zaima Rahman entered the penalty area and struck a powerful shot past the goalkeeper to score.

Social media users widely lauded the display, noting that her accurate ball control, quick decision-making ability and well-executed finish reflected Bangladesh's deep-rooted passion for football.

Commenting on the objective of the trip, the Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary, Atikur Rahman Ruman, said, “Barrister Zaima Rahman visited BKSP at the invitation of the institution’s authorities.

She visited the institution to encourage young athletes and toured various facilities and interacted with coaches and students.”

Throughout the day-long visit, she exchanged views with BKSP officials, coaches, and students to discuss their training regimes and experiences.

A high-profile delegation accompanied the Prime Minister's daughter during the tour, including Lawmaker Farida Yasmin, BKSP Director General Brigadier General Md Saif Ullah, Director (Training) Colonel Golam Mabud Hasan and Principal Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Imran Hasan.

Professor Nasrin Sultana of the Institute of Health Economics at the University of Dhaka, alongside former national table tennis player Jobera Rahman Linu and other senior officials of the institution, were also present.
