Prime Minister Tarique Rahman paid a solemn tribute to his parents on Saturday, visiting their graves shortly after concluding his maiden official overseas tour.

Following his return to the country on Friday night--which marked the end of a successful diplomatic mission involving high-level bilateral meetings and official engagements in Malaysia and China--the Prime Minister arrived at the Mausoleum Complex inside Zia Udyan in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar at 12:15 pm.

During the visit, he stood by the final resting places of his father, former President Ziaur Rahman, and his mother, former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, to offer his respects.

In a moment of quiet reflection, the Prime Minister recited Surah Al-Fatiha and offered munajat, seeking eternal peace for their departed souls.

This visit served as his first major act of personal reflection following the conclusion of his first foreign tour since assuming the office of Prime Minister.
