Speaker Returns Early From Thailand amid Presidential Resignation Speculation

Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad arrived back in Bangladesh on Friday afternoon, cutting his official visit to Thailand short as speculation grows regarding the potential resignation of President Mohammed Shahabuddin.

According to a press statement released by the Parliament Secretariat, the Speaker landed at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at approximately 12:15 pm.

Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad had originally departed Dhaka for Thailand on July 19 and was initially slated to return on July 26.

However, he decided to cut the trip short and return early amid heightened political speculation surrounding the President’s potential stepping down from office.
