Prime Minister Tarique Rahman commended the Bangladesh Navy on Saturday for its professionalism and vital contribution to defending the nation's sovereignty during a courtesy meeting with newly installed Chief of Naval Staff Vice-Admiral Khondkar Misbah ul Azim at the Prime Minister's Office.

According to a press statement released by the Prime Minister's Assistant Press Secretary, Gazi Shahriar Pamir, the premier and the naval chief held discussions focusing on maritime security, expanding the force's operational readiness, ongoing modernization efforts, and other strategic priorities.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman conveyed his warm wishes to Vice-Admiral Misbah ul Azim for a successful tenure as he assumes his official leadership duties.

In return, the navy chief conveyed his deep appreciation to the Prime Minister for the warm reception and support.
