The Bangladesh Parliament Secretariat has issued a formal alert following the discovery of a forged Demi-Official (D.O.) letter carrying the Deputy Speaker's identity, which was circulated to gain unlawful benefits across multiple government offices and ministries.

The counterfeit document featured the Deputy Speaker's name alongside a forged signature, official letterhead stationery, government emblems, and a fabricated memo reference.

According to an official press release issued on Monday, legislative authorities uncovered the scam after the fraudulent paperwork was presented to several state departments.

Refuting any association, the Secretariat clarified that the document was never generated by the Jatiya Sangsad and maintains zero connection to the national legislature.

Officials emphasized that misusing official parliamentary identity markers, seals, or stationery to deceive public institutions or citizens represents a severe criminal offense subject to legal prosecution.

The press statement noted that law enforcement and relevant authorities have been directed to initiate legal proceedings against the perpetrators involved in the forgery.

In light of the incident, the Secretariat advised all public and private entities, media outlets, and citizens to independently confirm the legitimacy of any official correspondence or D.O. letters claiming ties to the Bangladesh Parliament by contacting the Secretariat's designated branch prior to taking action.
