The United States has downgraded its Travel Advisory for Bangladesh from Level 3 ("Reconsider Travel") to Level 2 ("Exercise Increased Caution"), signifying improved security and travel conditions across the nation, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday night.

The official statement highlighted that the government regards this revised assessment as global validation of its sustained efforts to bolster law and order, maintain political stability, and build a conducive climate for international trade, foreign investment, travel, and stronger cultural exchanges.

According to the ministry, the decision reflects expanding American trust in Bangladesh's security apparatus and overall stability.

The revision was finalized following a productive bilateral meeting in Dhaka between Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman and US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy on South and Central Asian Affairs, Ambassador Sergio Gor.

Immediately following the conclusion of their talks, Ambassador Gor transmitted a text message to Foreign Minister Rahman formally notifying him of the decision to lower the travel warning, the press release noted.

Prime Minister's Foreign Affairs Adviser Humaiun Kobir was also present during the high-level diplomatic meeting.

The Foreign Ministry observed that the security downgrade comes in the wake of visible progress achieved over the past six months in strengthening law enforcement and maintaining public order under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

The statement concluded that this positive development underscores the upward momentum and enduring strategic partnership between Bangladesh and the United States.
