Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman inaugurated the central campus of the Army International Islamic Institute (AIII) at the Jalsiri Housing Project in the capital on Monday, alongside laying the groundwork for seven upcoming branches nationwide via video teleconference (VTC), according to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release issued this afternoon.

During the ceremony, the Army Chief virtually unveiled the foundation stones for additional institutes scheduled for construction in Barishal, Savar, Bogura, Sylhet, Chattogram, Cumilla, and Jashore.

The launch aligns with the Bangladesh Army's long-standing dedication to advancing national education and human resource development through the establishment and administration of high-standard academic institutions.

According to the ISPR release, the institute was created to fuse a Cambridge curriculum-focused English-medium education with value-driven instruction, aimed at cultivating knowledgeable, ethical, and capable future citizens tailored to modern societal demands.

The defense public relations wing expressed optimism that the newly established facility will develop into a premier center of academic excellence while promoting sound moral and religious principles among its scholars.

Students enrolled at the institute are expected to mature into disciplined, patriotic, and morally grounded citizens inspired by the teachings of the Holy Quran and Sunnah, actively contributing to the welfare of the country.

The military authority added that this initiative is set to play a pivotal role in fostering conscientious leadership capable of serving at both the national and international levels.

The inaugural ceremony brought together Principal Staff Officers from Army Headquarters, General Officers Commanding of various army divisions, senior military leaders, key stakeholders associated with the institute, educators, pupils, parents, and members of the press.
