Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed said on Monday that the law enforcement and security forces across Bangladesh have been placed on high alert to maintain law and order and guarantee public safety ahead of August 5.

Briefing journalists at his office in the Bangladesh Secretariat, Salahuddin Ahmed stated, "All necessary measures have been taken to ensure a peaceful and secure environment across the country ahead of August 5".

He emphasized that the heightened security arrangements represent standard precautionary measures dictated by the significance of the date and current security evaluations.

He also said that the the Home Ministry has issued explicit instructions to police and security agencies to step up monitoring and maintain complete readiness to handle any potential disruptions.

Under these operational directives, security personnel must refrain from leaving police vehicles unattended and maintain continuous vigilance to preserve fast response capabilities and constant surveillance.

To further review nationwide security and finalize remaining protocols for August 5, Salahuddin noted that a high-level coordination meeting involving government officials, security agencies, and key stakeholders will take place shortly.

Addressing recent security scares, Salahuddin highlighted the recovery of bomb-like objects in the Motijheel and Ashulia areas, framing the events as deliberate efforts to incite fear and destabilize social order.

He confirmed that a joint investigation is currently in progress to uncover the perpetrators and establish whether the separate recoveries are connected.

In addition, Salahuddin revealed that intelligence and law enforcement units are keeping a close watch on banned groups as well as certain factions operating from international locations.

He concluded by stating that full details regarding these matters will be made public once ongoing investigations draw to a close.
