Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to facilitating international business, assuring global investors that his government will provide all necessary assistance to those seeking to capitalize on Bangladesh’s emerging economic opportunities.
The Prime Minister extended this assurance on Tuesday during a meeting with a delegation from the American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham) at the Cabinet Division’s meeting room in the Bangladesh Secretariat.
Emphasizing the current national climate for business, he stated, “Bangladesh currently has a favourable environment for investment.”
The eight-member AmCham delegation was led by its President, Syed Mohammad Kamal, who also serves as a Vice President at Mastercard.
During the discussion, the representatives updated the Prime Minister on the activities of the chamber's new committee, which assumed leadership approximately two months ago.
The delegation outlined their strategic focus on driving increased United States investment into Bangladesh and strengthening the bilateral commercial partnership between the two nations.
The high-level meeting was attended by key government officials, including Commerce Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir, Prime Minister’s Adviser for the Ministries of Posts, Telecommunications, Information Technology, and Science and Technology, Rehan Asif Asad, and Executive Chairman of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), Ashik Chowdhury.
