PM Releases Fish Fry, Launches National Fisheries Week in Kishoreganj

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman released fish fry into the Brahmaputra River on Sunday at Pakundia in Kishoreganj as part of a series of official engagements across the district.

The Prime Minister departed his Gulshan residence in Dhaka by road at 9:15 am and arrived in Pakundia around 11:30 am.

Upon arrival, he released fingerlings into the Brahmaputra River near the Mirzapur Chairman Bari Ghat before proceeding to inspect the Katiadi Carp Hatchery Complex.

Later in the afternoon, the Prime Minister is set to formally open 'National Fisheries Week 2026' and present the National Fisheries Awards during a ceremony at the Achimita George Institute grounds.

His schedule in Kishoreganj also includes participating in a tree plantation initiative at the historic Sholakia Ground and distributing Family Cards to beneficiaries at Kishoreganj Stadium.

Prime Minister's Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman noted that crowds of party supporters, women, teenagers, and children lined both sides of the highway to greet the Prime Minister throughout his journey from Dhaka to Kishoreganj.

He stated that the Prime Minister acknowledged the well-wishers by waving to them from his vehicle with a smile.

Following the completion of his daylong itinerary, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to return to Dhaka in this evening.
