Nepal has formally thanked the Government of Bangladesh for its offer of assistance, noting that it will remain in close coordination with Dhaka regarding any specific support that may be required following the recent disaster.

The development came during a telephone conversation on Thursday between the Foreign Minister of Nepal, Shisir Khanal and the Foreign Minister of Bangladesh, Dr. Khalilur Rahman, where they discussed the unfolding situation in Nepal.

During the call, the two foreign ministers reviewed the ongoing search, rescue, and relief operations following the catastrophic border flash floods in Tibet and Nepal, which have left nearly 1,000 people missing.
