The United States has extended USD 2.4 million worth of medical machinery and provisions to Bangladesh with the objective of bolstering maternal, infant, and pediatric healthcare operations throughout the nation, as announced by the US Embassy on this day.

US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent T. Christensen handed over maternity and newborn care instructional models to Panchagarh Civil Surgeon Dr Md Mizanur Rahman at the Panchagarh District Hospital as an element of the program.

The wider American contribution encompasses neonatal warmers alongside respiratory apparatus, specialized nourishment items destined for acutely undernourished youngsters, and materials engineered to preserve vaccine potency, per a briefing credited to US Embassy Dhaka spokesperson Poornima Rai.

The gear and provisions are currently being dispatched to medical facilities and community clinics across Bangladesh, incorporating remote locations, via US-supported collaborators FHI 360, Jhpiego, JSI, and UNICEF.

The embassy communicated that the aid is directed at reinforcing Bangladesh’s medical infrastructure and broadening entry to premium maternal, newborn, and child medical care nationwide.

It conveyed that the backing similarly propels the America First Global Health Strategy via tangible partnerships formulated to fortify medical frameworks and champion American medical innovation.

“The United States remains committed to working with the Government of Bangladesh to expand access to quality health care nationwide,” the embassy expressed.
