Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) confiscated smuggled merchandise, yaba narcotics, Indian alcoholic beverages, and assorted prohibited items during distinct operations executed along the frontiers of Sylhet, Cox's Bazar, Sherpur and Chuadanga.
The confiscations took place across four separate actions, as indicated by individual media statements released by the BGB on Saturday.
Within the Sylhet sector, security squads belonging to the Sylhet Battalion (48 BGB) intercepted Indian cumin seeds, thermal blankets, fresh fruits, beauty products, livestock, pan masala, betel nuts, and a motorized Bangladeshi watercraft transporting unlawfully extracted sand and stone.
The total worth of these intercepted commodities was estimated at roughly BDT 29 lakh.
In Cox's Bazar, a tactical unit from the Ghumdhum Border Outpost operating under the Cox's Bazar Battalion (34 BGB) uncovered 10,000 Myanmar-origin yaba pills at an unattended location in Ambagan Galachipa, situated approximately 400 meters inside domestic territory past Border Pillar-32, on August 28.
Official documentation noted that statutory actions are currently progressing.
Inside Sherpur, surveillance details from the Mymensingh Battalion (39 BGB) confiscated 705 bottles of Indian alcohol valued at BDT 10,57,500 via separate raids conducted at Porabari within Nalitabari and Gurucharan Dudhnoi located in Jhenaigati.
Concurrently, surveillance squads representing the Maheshpur Battalion (58 BGB) impounded 47 bottles of Indian Eskuf cough syrup along with 50 agricultural pesticide packets carrying an aggregate value of BDT 43,800 inside Jibannagar upazila of Chuadanga on August 28.
The BGB affirmed that intelligence-gathering efforts and anti-smuggling campaigns will persist to uphold territorial frontier defense while checking narcotics smuggling and diverse unlawful offenses.
