The government of Bangladesh issued a strong condemnation on Thursday regarding Israel's intention to push forward with settlement development across the E1 zone within the occupied West Bank, declaring that the move breaches international regulations and sabotages the viability of a two-state resolution.
An official declaration released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that these proposed measures contradict global legal standards as well as applicable United Nations Security Council resolutions.
The projected construction threatens to further erode the territorial continuity of occupied Palestinian lands alongside the potential realization of an independent Palestinian nation, the announcement noted.
Dhaka demanded that Israel halt all expansionist settlement operations within occupied Palestinian territory without delay.
Furthermore, the ministry reiterated its steadfast backing for the lawful and inherent entitlements of the Palestinian population, encompassing their prerogative to forge an autonomous and sovereign State of Palestine anchored to pre-1967 boundaries, with East Jerusalem serving as its capital.
The administration also appealed to the global community to amplify diplomatic measures aimed at blocking actions that undermine Palestinian statehood while fostering a fair, comprehensive, and enduring settlement in the Middle East built upon international law and the two-state framework.
“Bangladesh stands in solidarity with the people of Palestine and remains committed to supporting their legitimate aspirations for freedom, dignity, justice and statehood,” the statement added.
