
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman conducted a hospital visit on Friday to check on an active-duty military officer receiving medical care at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH).
The armed forces official sustained severe injuries during an accidental incident during a tank gunnery drill at the Hathazari Field Firing Range situated in Chattogram on Wednesday.
The premier arrived at the CMH around midday to inspect the medical status of the wounded service member, offering wishes for a swift and full recuperation, according to statements provided by Deputy Press Secretary Suzauddoula (Sujon Mahmud).
He noted that the Prime Minister issued direct instructions to the relevant administrative bodies to guarantee that comprehensive medical attention is provided to the recovering officer.
During the visit, the Prime Minister conversed directly with the injured officer and his relatives, imparting words of strength and reassurance.
The operational accident resulted in the fatalities of two Bangladesh Army soldiers alongside the critical wounding of the officer.
Following the mishap, the injured commander was transported via an emergency air evacuation flight to the Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka to receive specialized medical intervention.
The deputy press secretary added that the Prime Minister voiced profound sorrow regarding the loss of the two military personnel, extending heartfelt condolences to their mourning families.
