Outgoing Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen paid a farewell courtesy call on State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir at the foreign ministry on Sunday, marking the conclusion of a three-year-and-nine-month diplomatic tenure in Dhaka.

During the meeting, State Minister Humaiun lauded the envoy's instrumental contributions to bilateral ties, highlighting high-visibility diplomatic engagement, facilitation of the Prime Minister's successful official visit to China, the elevation of bilateral relations to a shared community framework, and the upcoming rollout of cooperative architectures including a state-ministerial level 2+2 dialogue mechanism.

Ambassador Yao expressed gratitude for his tenure, extended congratulations on the foreign minister's election as president of the United Nations General Assembly as a point of national pride for Bangladesh, and reaffirmed Beijing's enduring developmental partnership.

The envoy further conveyed that the Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC)—whose paternal predecessor presented diplomatic credentials to late President Ziaur Rahman—plans an official visit to Bangladesh later this year.

Concluding the interaction, State Minister Humaiun reiterated optimism for deepening bilateral momentum, extended wishes for the ambassador's upcoming assignment, and affirmed mutual appreciation for diplomatic cooperation.
