President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Tuesday emphasized prioritizing technological, engineering, and vocational instruction to generate jobs domestically and internationally.

Speaking during a courtesy meeting with a delegation headed by Pabna University of Science and Technology Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Abul Hasnat Mohammad Shamim at Bangabhaban, the president observed, "We have to gradually move away from an education system that creates unemployment and does not equip students for employment."

During the audience, the vice-chancellor presented a detailed account of the institution's comprehensive academic operations.

Underlining the necessity of educational reform, the president pointed out that academic standards must be upgraded to keep pace with the rapidly evolving global landscape, thereby enabling Bangladeshi students to advance.

In his capacity as university chancellor, the president received an official invitation from the vice-chancellor to preside over the upcoming convocation ceremony, accepting the offer and giving his assurance to attend the event.

The meeting was attended by the president's military secretary, secretary and press secretary, alongside the university's pro-vice-chancellor and treasurer.
