Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is set to deliver his maiden speech in Bengali at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly today, Thursday, September 24.

As the third member of the Zia family to address the global stage, his address is expected to place the highest priority on the national economy, the Rohingya crisis, and regional cooperation.

In addition, the speech will strongly highlight global and national issues such as Bangladesh's democratic advancement, climate change, youth and women's empowerment, and sustainable development.

Focus on Economic Diplomacy
Alongside the core proceedings of the UN session, the Prime Minister has placed a special emphasis on economic diplomacy during this visit:

High-Level Bilateral Talks: He has already held bilateral meetings with several world leaders, including World Bank President Ajay Banga and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Wall Street Engagement: To attract foreign investment, he is scheduled to meet with Wall Street representatives tomorrow, September 25.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is actively participating in various high-level UN events to garner international support and build pressure on Myanmar for a permanent resolution to the eight-year-long Rohingya crisis.
