
Five flight operations connecting Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia have been canceled following the temporary shutdown of Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport in the wake of a Houthi attack on October 10.
The aviation facility is slated to remain closed until 3 am Bangladesh time on October 12.
Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Public Relations Official Kausar confirmed the cancellation of the affected services.
The impacted schedules include Saudia flights SV804/805 and SV806/807, Biman Bangladesh Airlines flights BG339 and BG340, and Riyadh Air flights RX763/764.
Specifically, Saudia flights SV804/805 were originally scheduled to land in Dhaka at 11:05 pm on October 10 and take off at 12:45 am on October 11.
Biman's Dhaka-Riyadh service BG339 was set to depart at 2:05 am on October 11.
Furthermore, Saudia flights SV806/807 were due to arrive at 9:45 am and depart at 11:25 am, while Riyadh Air flights RX763/764 were scheduled to touch down at 7 am and depart at 8:30 am, with all timings reflecting local schedules.
Meanwhile, US-Bangla Airlines flight BS381, which took off on October 10, was rerouted, recording its actual landing at 3:10 am.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines has urged affected travelers not to head to the airport until further announcements are issued.
The flag carrier indicated that updates regarding itinerary rescheduling and flight status would be communicated through its official portal and notification channels, adding that passengers can reach out to its call center or visit the nearest ticketing office for support.
