Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has called for moving Bangladesh forward through national unity.
He stated that everyone must remain united in the spirit of the November 7 Revolution and Solidarity Day so that no one can snatch away the rights of the people in the future. If united, Bangladesh will not lose its way.
The Prime Minister made these remarks on Saturday morning (November 7) while attending the National Revolution and Solidarity Day event at the Army Stadium in the capital.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman said that November 7, 1975, was a day to distinguish friend from foe.
Just as the students and the public protected the nation's independence during the 2024 mass uprising, the soldiers and the public similarly played a crucial role in safeguarding the country's independence and sovereignty in 1975.
The 1971 war was to achieve independence, whereas the 2024 movement was to protect it. The heroes of November 7 were the patriotic soldiers and the public.
The Prime Minister added that just as Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman stood up for Bangladesh on November 7, he had likewise fought on the battlefield for the country during the Liberation War.
He further noted that the soldiers and the public thwarted the conspiracy of those who wanted to make Bangladesh a dependent state on others and destroy the glory of the armed forces.
However, he commented that the conspiracy did not stop there, leading to the subsequent military killings at Pilkhana and the establishment of fascism.
Earlier, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman enjoyed a colorful parade and a special display organized at the Army Stadium to mark National Revolution and Solidarity Day. His wife, Zubaida Rahman, accompanied him during the event.
