Mentioning coaching business as a new type of crime the High Court said, coaching business is going on due to failure of delivering lessons in the class rooms. The court also asked to make the educational institutions more active.

These remarks of the court came in while hearing process of a writ petition on Sunday.

The date for verdict is fixed on February 7 in connection with the writ petition filed challenging the legality of policy formulated to close the coaching business. After hearing of the several separate writ petitions over the matter the High Court bench comprising Justice Sheikh Hasan Arif and Justice Raziq Al Jalil fixed the date on Sunday.

Barrister M Amir-Ul-Islam represented the writ petitioner while Advocate Khurshid Alam Khan stood for the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) before the court.

During the hearing Amicus Curiae Fida M Kamal told the court, the subject of coaching business has become more important than the classes due to system fail.

ACC lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan told the newsmen, the date was fixed today to deliver verdict over coaching business. There were two Amicus Curiae, one is former attorney general Hasan Arif who gave his speech earlier. Today another former attorney general Fida M Kamal has given his speech. He explained in detail, what may happen or not if coaching business goes on, whether it would be allowed or not. He took time from the court for submitting written arguments. The court heard his speech with due importance and fixed the date for verdict on February 7. The court also asked Fida M Kamal to submit his written speech within next Sunday.

Mentionable, the concerned authority of Motijheel Government Boys’ School issued show cause notice against some of its teachers over allegation of coaching business based on ACC investigation report. Then the teachers filed writ petition with the High Court against the notice and the policy formulated to close the coaching business for the educational institution teachers. Then the High Court issued rule in this regard.
