UAE not allowing Bangladeshi workers with Corona-negative certificates

Some countries including United Arab Emirates (UAE) are not allowing workers to return who have come to Bangladesh after emerging of the coronavirus pandemic. Recently 112 workers were sent back to the country from Abu Dhabi though they had corona-negative certificates and visas. To solve the complexities investigation committee has been formed.

The expatriate remittance fighters are in disarray as they were sent back in the country in the period of coronavirus pandemic. Their savings are getting finished. After overcoming many hurdles the said 112 people went to Abu Dhabi but they were sent back by Abu Dhabi immigration.

At present they are seeking government support to return to their work places. One such expatriate said, I am passing my professional life in overseas for the last 15 years. What I would do if I am not allowed to return. My company is saying that everything is okay and you may come back. But I am unable to go. I am not getting my ticket. Even we are not getting any information on how we would go to our designated country.

In this regard Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmed said, decision will be taken after getting the recommendation of the investigation committee to send the 112 expatriates to their work places under government expenditure. The ministry is working to avert the sufferings of the expatriates.
