9 Died of Dengue in A Single Day, 1,214 Hospitalized

In the last 24 hours, 9 people have died of dengue in the country. During this period, 1,214 patients have been admitted to the hospital. So far this year, 436 have died of dengue and 84,368 have been admitted to the hospital.

This was revealed from the information provided by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services on Thursday (November 21).

The report said that 5 people have died of dengue in the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) area in the last 24 hours. In addition, 3 people died of dengue in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) during this period, and one died of dengue in Rajshahi division.

On the other hand, the highest number of dengue patients (430) have been admitted to the hospital in Dhaka division in the last 24 hours. In addition, 195 have been admitted to the hospital in DNCC and 141 in DSCC with dengue during this period. Apart from this, in the last 24 hours, 117 people in Khulna division, 94 in Chattogram division, 9 in Rajshahi division, 82 in Barishal division, 39 in Mymensingh division, 14 in Rangpur division 11 in Sylhet division have been admitted to hospitals due to dengue.

The Directorate General of Health Services said that a total of 436 people have died of dengue from the first day of this year to November 21. During this period, 84,368 people have been admitted to hospitals due to the mosquito-borne disease. Of these, the highest number of deaths have occurred in the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) area. A total of 189 people have died of the mosquito-borne disease in DSCC this year.

On the other hand, 76 people have died of dengue in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) from January 1 to November 21 this year. In addition, 48 people died of dengue in Barishal division, 45 in Chattogram division, 33 in Dhaka division, 23 in Khulna division, 13 in Mymensingh division, 6 in Rajshahi division, 2 in Rangpur division and 1 in Chattogram City Corporation area during this period.

Whenever we aim to permanently rid the country of fascism, some individuals and groups disguised as civil society stand in opposition. If necessary, we will resist them as well." Injured participants from the uprising were also present at the program. Earlier, the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement announced plans to release the "July Proclamation" after the uprising. However, the organization withdrew this decision after the government declared its intent to issue the proclamation.

At the call of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, students, citizens, and families of the injured and martyrs of the uprising are gathering at Shaheed Minar to join the "March for Unity." Since Tuesday (31 December) morning, people from various parts of the country have started assembling at the Shaheed Minar area. During the gathering, students and citizens chanted slogans such as "Why are the killers free while my brothers are in the grave?" "Delhi or Dhaka, Dhaka," "Injustice will be swept away in a flood of blood,” “Abu Sayed, Mugdho, the battle is not over yet," and "Hang the killers, hang Hasina." Some were seen holding banners, placards, and flags as part of their preparation. Students and citizens from districts such as Chattogram, Natore, Panchagarh, and Sirajganj arrived early in the morning and took positions around Shaheed Minar and Dhaka University. Various groups of students were seen gathering in and around the Shaheed Minar. Many revolutionaries were also seen seated in chairs in front of it. From our perspective, we want to say one thing: many of the narratives Sheikh Hasina tried to present about you and others are no longer believed by the current generation of Bangladesh. The present generation has enough conscience to identify and expel fascists." He also added, "The way we worked hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder, and even at the planning table, we will continue to work unitedly in the future, prioritizing the country's interests above all to build the Bangladesh of tomorrow."
