Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Sheikh Md Sajjat Ali has announced that seven key points in the capital will be barricaded from 8 pm to 9 pm as part of security measures for International Mother Language Day.
During a press briefing on Thursday (February 20), the Commissioner outlined the security arrangements for February 21, ensuring a smooth and orderly observance of the occasion.
Floral Tribute Schedule & Public Advisory
- 12:01 am – 12:40 am: VVIPs and VIPs will pay their respects at the Central Shaheed Minar.
- Public access will begin at 12:40 am through the Palashi Gate of Dhaka University.
- The public is requested to visit at designated times and maintain discipline while offering tributes.
- DMP assures that there are no security threats, and all necessary precautions have been taken.
- Enhanced Security & Public Safety Guidelines
- Police will remain on high alert until 2 pm on February 21.
- Visitors should keep personal belongings secure, including mobile phones and wallets.
- A mobile security team will patrol a 1-kilometer radius around the area.

- Designated Routes for Entry & Exit
- Entry: Palashi Crossing → Sculpture Crossing → Jagannath Hall Crossing → Central Shaheed Minar
- Exit: Ramna Crossing → Doel Chattar
