The Cabinet Division has issued a statement calling the allegations against some advisers of the interim government baseless.
This information was released in a statement from the Cabinet Division on Saturday, August 9.
In the statement, Cabinet Secretary Sheikh Abdur Rashid said that the interim government has noted recent newspaper reports in which former government official ABM Abdus Sattar made unfounded allegations against several advisers without naming them.
“We firmly reject these allegations,” the statement read. “Making sweeping accusations without presenting evidence or identifying individuals is irresponsible and damaging to public trust.”
The statement also added that the administration is committed to transparency, integrity, and accountability. “If Abdus Sattar has credible evidence of any misconduct, we urge him to promptly submit it to the appropriate legal and investigative authorities.”
“Until such evidence is presented, we remind all stakeholders that public discourse should be based on facts, not speculation.”
On Friday, ABM Abdus Sattar claimed at an event that he had evidence of “unlimited corruption” by eight advisers in the interim government.
He stated, “I am very disappointed. It’s one thing for bureaucrats to have bad character, but I can provide evidence of unlimited corruption by at least eight advisers who took their seats on the blood of the July movement. Intelligence agencies have evidence of corruption against these eight advisers, but no action is being taken against anyone.”
Sattar also claimed that important appointments and transfers are not made without consulting these eight advisers.
