Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has finally resumed full Metro Rail service along the entire route, from Uttara to Motijheel, in the capital.
Service was relaunched today, Monday (October 27), at 11:00 AM. The Metro Rail authority has sincerely apologized for the temporary inconvenience caused to commuters.
The decision to restart the service came after a new bearing pad was successfully installed this morning on the Metro Rail pillar in Farmgate, where the original pad had fallen off.
A trial run of the train was conducted immediately after the installation.
Yesterday, Sunday, the bearing pad fell from a Metro Rail pillar in Farmgate at approximately 12:30 PM. The incident resulted in the death of a young man, leading to a complete halt in Metro Rail operations.
Later that day, Metro Rail service resumed between Uttara and Agargaon at 3:00 PM, after a two-and-a-half-hour disruption.
Service on the Motijheel to Shahbag section began at 7:15 PM, after a nearly seven-and-three-quarter-hour halt.
