
The government has announced three days of state mourning from Wednesday to Friday (December 31 to January 2) following the passing of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.
Additionally, a nationwide general holiday has been declared for Wednesday, December 31.
Cabinet Secretary Sheikh Abdur Rashid shared the information during a press briefing at the Secretariat on Tuesday (December 30).
Earlier today, Khaleda Zia passed away at 6:00 AM while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital. She was 80 years old.
Meanwhile, the Chief Adviser expressed his condolences over her death. In a message, he stated, "With the passing of Begum Khaleda Zia, the nation has lost one of its great guardians. I am deeply saddened and shocked by her demise."
