Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of the Interim Government, has urged all participating nations and organizations at the 30th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) 2026 to work together in a spirit of mutual cooperation and partnership.

In a message issued on Wednesday (December 31) ahead of the landmark event, Dr. Yunus extended his greetings to domestic and foreign entrepreneurs, investors, and consumers, describing the fair as a unique platform to showcase Bangladesh's immense potential to the world.

Economic Stability and Growth

The Chief Adviser emphasized the Interim Government's unwavering commitment to maintaining economic stability and achieving desired growth.

"Since taking office, the current Interim Government has been working sincerely to ensure economic stability. The Dhaka International Trade Fair can serve as a vital catalyst in achieving this goal," Dr. Yunus stated.

He highlighted several key objectives for this year's fair:

• Export Expansion: Boosting the global reach of high-quality Bangladeshi products.
• Market Insight: Helping local entrepreneurs understand global design trends and quality standards through exposure to foreign products.
• Economic Impact: Expanding economic activity, creating employment, and attracting foreign investment.

Dr. Yunus expressed his hope that the month-long event would be "buyer-friendly and festive," driven by effective participation from all sectors.

He believes that diversification of products and increased foreign interest during the fair will contribute significantly to the country's overall development.

Schedule Adjustment

The 30th edition of the DITF was originally scheduled to commence on January 1.

However, the start date was rescheduled to January 3 following the passing of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
