The government has decided to deploy joint forces across the country in preparation for the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election and the national referendum.

Security personnel will remain on the ground for a total of 12 days: four days prior to the election, on election day, and seven days following the polls.

The announcement was made by Home Secretary Nasimul Gani during a high-level meeting on the overall law and order situation held Wednesday (January 21) at the Chief Adviser's Office in Tejgaon.

The meeting was chaired by Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus.

Enhanced Surveillance and Technology
During the briefing, the Home Secretary detailed several technological measures being implemented to ensure security:

• Body Cameras: Local units will receive body-worn cameras within the next five days. These devices will allow for real-time connectivity and recording of incidents in specific areas.
• Drone Surveillance: Police and other security forces are authorized to use drones for monitoring as needed.
• 24/7 Monitoring: Starting today, multiple teams led by the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs will monitor and record all field-level election data around the clock.

Secretary Nasimul Gani also presented a video demonstration showcasing the operational use of body cameras during the session.
