To ensure safe, easy, and comfortable transit for arriving and departing passengers, the Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority (BEBICHAK) has officially launched a free shuttle bus service at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA).

The service, financed by BEBICHAK, was inaugurated on Wednesday, July 8.

The inauguration ceremony took place in front of the airport canopy, where the airport’s Executive Director, Group Captain S M Ragib Samad, attended as the chief guest. This information was confirmed in a press release signed by Muhammad Kawsar Mahmud, Assistant Director (Public Relations) of BEBICHAK.

According to the release, the shuttle service was initiated under the guidance and supervision of the Minister and State Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism, along with the Chairman of BEBICHAK. The buses will initially operate on routes connecting the airport to the Airport Bus Stand, Jasimuddin intersection to the Airport Railway Station, and the Kawla area to the airport.

This service allows passengers to travel quickly, safely, and comfortably between key transit points at the airport, entirely free of charge.

The initiative is expected to particularly benefit senior citizens, women, children, passengers with physical disabilities, and those carrying heavy luggage. Furthermore, it will play an effective role in reducing traffic congestion in the airport area by decreasing dependence on private vehicles and promoting an eco-friendly transport system.

During the ceremony, Group Captain S M Ragib Samad stated that BEBICHAK is continuously taking time-befitting initiatives to improve the quality of service at the country's main international airport and to ensure services that meet international standards.

The shuttle service is part of these ongoing efforts to save passengers time and guarantee secure movement.

The press release emphasized that, upholding the commitment "Honored Passengers First," BEBICHAK will continue to implement such public-welfare initiatives to enhance the quality of passenger services in the future. Senior officials from BEBICHAK, airport management, and relevant stakeholders were present at the event.
