Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman embarked on a one-day official visit to Barishal today, marking his first such trip to the division since assuming office.

The Prime Minister departed from his Gulshan residence in the capital by road early Monday morning, July 13. Throughout his journey, he has been greeted with warmth and enthusiasm by citizens from all walks of life, according to the BNP media cell.

The visit has generated significant excitement among political activists and the general public across the southern region.

Driving Regional Development
Local development analysts and civil society members believe this visit will accelerate long-awaited mega-projects in the historically underserved southern region.

Specifically, there is optimism that the project to upgrade the Bhanga-Kuakata highway—the region's economic lifeline—to six lanes will gain significant momentum.

Furthermore, it is expected that the master plan connecting Payra Port to Kuakata beach will receive a renewed push.
