Health and Family Welfare Minister Md. Sakhawat Hossain announced on Monday (July 13) that the government will soon recruit 100,000 new health workers under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to fill a large number of vacant positions in government hospitals across the country.
The minister shared this information during the question-and-answer session of the second session of the National Parliament in response to a query from Member of Parliament Sabikunnahar.

Ongoing Recruitment Efforts
Addressing the crisis, the minister stated that recruitment is a continuous process.
Efforts are currently underway to fill vacant physician roles through the 45th (450 posts), 46th (1,682 posts), 47th (1,331 posts), and 50th (650 posts) Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examinations.
Additionally, recruitment for Senior Staff Nurses is progressing through the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC).
Regarding the Grade-10 Midwife positions, the minister noted that the BPSC published final exam results on April 19.
The selection process is now in the final stages of health examinations and police verification, after which the appointees will be posted immediately.
Commitment to Universal Healthcare
Reiterating the government's election manifesto pledge, Minister Sakhawat Hossain emphasized the goal of bringing healthcare to the doorsteps of the common people.
He assured the Parliament that the massive recruitment drive would be completed as quickly as possible to ensure that all vacant positions are filled with qualified personnel.
