The Biman Bangladesh Airlines BG-306 flight, which was stranded at Fiumicino Airport in Rome, Italy, due to a technical glitch, has departed for Dhaka following repairs.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines General Manager (PR) Bushra Islam stated that the flight is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka at 12:24 PM Bangladesh time today.

In a message on Sunday morning, she said, "InshaAllah, the flight from Rome will arrive in Dhaka at 12:24 PM Bangladesh time. Thank you so much everyone for your patience."

Earlier, necessary spare parts and a team of engineers were dispatched to repair the stranded aircraft of flight BG-306 in Rome. The Biman Bangladesh Airlines BG-305 flight carrying them landed at Rome's Fiumicino Airport at 11:16 PM Bangladesh time on Saturday.

According to Biman sources, a technical team and requisite spare parts were sent from Dhaka to make the stranded Boeing 777-300ER aircraft airworthy as quickly as possible. Upon arriving in Rome, the engineers immediately began working to resolve the technical fault.

The technical defect was detected during routine refueling at around 7:20 AM local time last Friday (August 7). Since then, flight BG-306 had been stranded in Rome.

Flight BG-306 had departed from Toronto Pearson International Airport in Canada for Dhaka at 5:18 PM local time last Thursday.

After approximately eight hours of flight time, it landed at Fiumicino Airport in Rome at 7:19 AM on Friday, carrying over 250 passengers.

Following the flight delay, Biman Bangladesh Airlines arranged hotel accommodation, meals, and necessary assistance for the stranded passengers in Rome.
