BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia’s health condition has improved significantly compared to before, according to her personal physician and BNP Standing Committee member, Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain.
Speaking to journalists on Monday night (February 3) after an event and iftar gathering organized by "Zia Parishad, UK" in London, Dr. Zahid shared the update on her health.
"Khaleda Zia's condition is stable. Doctors are regularly visiting her at home and closely monitoring her health," he said. "She is much better now compared to before."
The former prime minister is currently receiving treatment while staying at the Kingston residence of her son, Tarique Rahman, in London. Noting the positive impact of family support on her well-being, Dr. Zahid added, "After nearly seven years, Begum Zia is finally with her family members, which has significantly contributed to her mental well-being. This mental peace is aiding in her physical recovery."
He clarified, "I won’t say that Khaleda Zia has fully recovered, but she is doing much better than before."
Dr. Zahid also mentioned that, following medical advice, she is expected to return to Bangladesh soon.
Notably, Begum Khaleda Zia was taken to London on January 8 for advanced medical treatment.
