
The health condition of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, who is undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital, is improving, according to Shayrul Kabir Khan, an official of the BNP Chairperson's media wing.
Quoting Professor Dr. A Z M Zahid Hossain, the Chairperson's personal physician and a member of the BNP Standing Committee, Shayrul Kabir Khan informed that the health of the former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is improving. She is currently receiving treatment in a cabin under the close supervision of the medical board formed for her treatment.
Dr. Rafiqul Islam, BNP's Health Affairs Secretary, stated that the issue for which Madam was admitted to the hospital (lung infection) is still stable. Her treatment is being carried out under the supervision of the medical board, which comprises both local and foreign doctors. Dr. Zubaida Rahman, the wife of the Acting Chairman, is maintaining constant communication with them.
He further mentioned that the doctors of the medical board who treated Madam during past difficult times, despite facing many obstacles, are still working tirelessly day and night to provide her treatment.
Earlier, Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital on Sunday night at 8 PM. She is under the supervision of specialist physician Professor Shahabuddin Talukdar at the hospital.
Context: The 79-year-old Khaleda Zia has been suffering from various complex health issues for many years, including arthritis, diabetes, kidney and lung problems, and eye complications. She has to visit the hospital frequently due to various complications.
Prior to this, Khaleda Zia traveled to London on January 7 for advanced treatment. She returned to the country on May 6 after staying in London for 117 days for treatment.
