
After a long hiatus of 19 years, the Acting Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Tarique Rahman, is set to visit Bogura.
He is scheduled to arrive in the district on January 11, marking a significant return to his ancestral home and political stronghold.
Following his stay in Bogura, Tarique Rahman will travel to Rangpur to offer prayers (Ziarat) at the grave of Shaheed Abu Sayed. Top leaders of the Bogura District BNP have confirmed the visit.

Long-Awaited Return
Rezaul Karim Badshah, President of the Bogura District BNP, noted that the visit marks a historic moment for the party. Tarique Rahman last visited Bogura on December 24, 2006. His return on January 11 will end an absence of 19 years and 18 days.
Future Engagements
Reliable sources within the BNP have also indicated that Tarique Rahman may travel to Sylhet around January 20 as part of his nationwide tour.
This series of visits comes at a critical time as the country prepares for the 13th National Parliamentary Election, scheduled for February 12, 2026.
