BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has visited the residence of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, for a private meeting.
Tarique Rahman departed from his Gulshan residence around 6:30 PM on Sunday (February 15) and arrived at Dr. Shafiqur Rahman’s home at approximately 7:00 PM.
Following this meeting, he is scheduled to visit the residence of Nahid Islam at 8:00 PM.
This high-level meeting follows the 13th National Parliamentary Election held last Thursday (February 12).
According to the results for 297 seats, the BNP secured an absolute majority by winning 209 seats independently.
With an additional 3 seats from its alliance partners, the BNP-led alliance's current total stands at 212 seats.
This "landslide" victory—the first of its kind for the party in over fifteen years—has sparked a wave of rejuvenation among party activists and supporters across the country.
